A Note from Darlene.....

When we first met Jean, it was at the Blairstown Nutrition Center and she was a character! She was quick with the tongue and her dry humor. When we first met all she wanted to do was cut, cut, and cut coupons. When she joined us at Selah we found that Jean was full of surprises and could do more than use scissors! Jean had an immediate connection with our Mascot, Marco. As soon as she arrived she would find her chair and Marco was right up on her lap. She loved him. There were times when she thought it was Petunia, her long lost pup, so it made her feel happy to have Marco.

Jean loved a practical joke. She appreciated a good laugh and good music. Jean was kind to everyone and loved to share stories. She loved to tell the story of how she met her husband, George, while roller skating. She said she knew he was the one after she knocked him onto his bumm and all he did was laugh.

Unfortunately, dementia affects our loved ones in different ways. For Jean, the spirit that she had slowly disappeared before us. I hope and pray she has found peace.
Our hearts will always remember her and we are honored to have had a place in her life.
